L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample
The Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample — the old left side of Barcelona's nineteenth-century grid — holds more adult venues than any other part of the city. They are spread along the long straight carrers rather than gathered on one street, so addresses here are numbered by the avenue they sit on: Club Urgell 150, Club Muntaner 101, Club AV. Roma 122.
The mix leans two ways. There are the clubs de alterne — hostess clubs that shade into escort work — and a large number of erotic and tantric massage studios. Barcelona also has an unusually strong swingers scene, and it is represented here.
