London Alternative Market

A monthly kink and fetish market with an afterparty, held on the first Sunday of every month at The Steel Yard on Allhallows Lane in London, three minutes' walk from Cannon Street station. LAM has run since 2006 and calls itself London's only monthly kinky market and afterparty; the next occurrence is Sunday 6 September 2026.

The day runs to a published timetable: doors at noon, a newbie orientation at 1pm, a healthy mental practices workshop at 2pm, a guest workshop at 4pm and a beginners' peer rope session at 5.30pm. At 6pm the Red Room closes and is set up for the afterparty, which starts between 7 and 7.15pm. There is no first entrance to the venue after 8pm.

The layout is three rooms: the Main Arch, the largest retail area with over twenty exhibitors; the Red Room, a smaller space with a further twelve exhibitors that becomes the main play space in the evening; and a workshop room on the mezzanine that is converted into a rope room for the evening. The venue has two rooms on one level for shopping, a large social area, an additional room with a bar, and disabled access; the organiser states it is wheelchair accessible.

The organiser advertises market-only tickets from £8 at the early bird rate, plus a 50p booking fee — an advertised figure rather than a quoted rate, so confirm it at the point of purchase. It recommends buying in advance, particularly for the afterparty, whose ticket allocation is limited. Note that the tier tables on its ticket page are still headed August 2026, so they do not describe this date.
