The Verboten Social is Klub Verboten's way in. It is a social event, not a play event, aimed at people who are curious about the club but have not taken up a membership — a chance to meet existing members, get a feel for the crowd, and ask the questions that are awkward to ask anywhere else.

It runs at Night Tales on Bohemia Place in Hackney, a converted warehouse space immediately next to Hackney Central Overground station, which has step-free access. Doors 19:00, last entry 23:00 — an evening, not a night.

There is no dress code. Come as you are, or dress to impress. That is the point of the format: none of the usual barriers to a first visit apply.

Klub Verboten launched in 2016 and describes itself as a provider of contemporary pro-pervert spaces — a grassroots movement that grew into tens of thousands of members and is supported by Arts Council England. It runs in London, Berlin and on tour, and is queer-led.
