Algarve After Dark is run by a swinger couple who moved from London to the Algarve and found the region short of events for open-minded adults, so they started organising their own — a mix of social gatherings and private play parties.

They are explicit that this is not a business: we are not a business or a club and our events are not run for profit. The modest fee on the socials covers the venue's minimum spend or reservation charge, a drinks voucher and the payment processor, and is there to encourage the people who book to turn up.

The socials are public and deliberately relaxed; the play parties are private and have run at villas in the countryside. The gatherings are international — the organisers say they are fluent in English, German, Polish and Spanish — and the site is published in five languages.
