Couples' Cupid is a Washington state lifestyle group that runs its own events for couples and select single women. Its account of why it exists is unusually plain: a handful of local couples who got tired of scrolling through fake profiles, picture collectors and scams, and decided it was easier to put on parties where the people are real.

The programme is small and weighted towards long weekends. An evening dance party at a bar in Olympia is the usual way in for newcomers; the two bigger fixtures are a three-night Halloween Monster Bash somewhere north of Seattle and a three-night masquerade ball over New Year on Puget Sound.

Locations are held loosely in public — the weekend events are given as a county or a region rather than an address, and the details go to people who have registered. Registration is free and the group says member information stays private.
