The Erotic Museum is a museum of erotic art and curiosities on Oudezijds Achterburgwal, in the heart of Amsterdam's Red Light District. Its own tour runs through a fine art gallery of sculpture and lithographs, a room of erotic sketches and lyric sheets by John Lennon, genuine 19th-century stereoscope photography, a BDSM floor with a suspended mannequin, a fairy-tale mural, a photo corner and a gift shop. Entry is for visitors aged 18 and over, and tickets can be bought at the door or online. The museum is open daily until late, with longer hours on Friday and Saturday.

Nice examples of cultural ideas and taboos from all over the world. Pictures, paintings, sculptures, pottery, furniture and more.
We visited the Erotic Museum during the day. It has three floors, and you’ll need to use the stairs. The exhibits are mostly visual, photos, videos, sculptures, with very little written information or context. It’s an interesting and quirky place, good for a short visit if you’re curious about the history of erotic art and culture.
Was hoping to see more of the historical or meaningful information of why red light district was so special. But this museum didn’t carry much of information. As explained in their board, this museum didn’t justify. Rather than museum, it was more like store. Waste of €8, seriously wouldn’t recommend!!
Saw it on my walk through the red light district and decided to go inside. Only 8€ and it’s filled with all the eroticism one can hope for in a place like this.
Lots of bizarre and downright crazy pieces of art here. Not for the prudes!
The John Lennon art was the most interesting works for me. Also got a novelty condom.
