Angel'us Club is a libertine club in the centre of Melun, at 9 Boulevard Gambetta on the Seine quays, in a stone building it describes as some 400 square metres of space. Its own copy makes the Jean de La Fontaine statue on the quay its landmark — the fabulist keeping watch over those crossing the night, and the marker between the street and what it calls its sanctuary.

The week is simple and the club states it plainly: mixed nights on Fridays, couples on Saturdays. Its published programme runs a themed party most weekends, with doors at 21:00, alongside private evenings and libertine apéros, and it takes bookings and RSVPs per night through its own site.

The club takes questions directly on WhatsApp, and it is worth asking there before a first visit — as with any club running a couples-only night, who is admitted depends on which evening you pick.
