Friends Night Out, which shortens itself to FNO, is a lifestyle events organiser in Aurora, Illinois. It does not own a club. It rents a single flexible space for its gatherings — a two-level event room the organisers call The Barn, styled like a warm, cosy pub and fitted out with sound, video and lighting for produced events — and it is explicit on its own site that this is not a permanent swinger or lifestyle club, but a space it hires while the owner prepares it to suit the events.

The room is deliberately social rather than cavernous. It runs to a little over two thousand square feet across its two levels, takes up to a hundred guests, and is laid out to encourage conversation and mingling rather than to fill a dancefloor. There is parking for around fifty cars, two restrooms, exterior security cameras and intruder alarms, and the organisers put privacy and safety at the front of how they describe it. They note that the building operates as a properly licensed and zoned business, and that what happens on the upper level is treated much as private activity in a hotel room would be.

The space sits on Jericho Road near the I-88 and Orchard Road junction and close to a cluster of hotels, which makes it practical for guests travelling in for a night. Its owner is described as supportive of the lifestyle community and as welcoming people of all orientations and identities.

FNO runs a monthly programme of its own ticketed events and also publishes a calendar of gatherings it does not organise. Tickets are sold per event with separate allocations, and some sell out by guest category well before the night.
