I'm pleased that the island sauna is being run so well so far. The passage of time does leave its mark, though. Especially nowadays, it's difficult to keep such businesses afloat.

I've been going to the Insel Sauna for years and always enjoy it. For me, it's a break from everyday life and pure relaxation. The hourly sauna infusions alone are simply wonderful. Add to that a friendly atmosphere, nice people, and delicious food. Sure, the facilities aren't state-of-the-art, but I think that's precisely what gives it its own special charm and makes it always worth a visit ☺️

Modest Sauna...... but big ... swimming pool , 2 finish saunas... steam sauna , restaurant...... great food selection and the stuff is great !

The sauna is situated on the edge of the City and can be reached easily by buses 15/16 just outside the Hauptbahnhof and a short walk. The entrance is under the arch to the rear of the building. The sauna is large and is situated in the semi-basement and the top floor. The wet-area has a large sauna used occasionally for the “Aufguss Ritual”, a large sectioned steam room and a swimming pool. There is also a further sauna on the top floor. There are various “restrooms” on the lower floor with some video rooms, sling and a St Andrew Cross. The ‘busiest’ parts are the steam room and restrooms. The majority of the bathers are between 40 and 60 with a few younger/older. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a nice bar area. The top floor has a gym, sun bathing/smoking area, large lounge a further sauna and TV room. I visited the sauna on a Thursday in the middle of the heatwave and so there were very few customers for a place of this size. Obviously, at weekends the place would be a lot busier, heatwave or no. The sauna was extremely well fitted and spotlessly clean. In my opinion the place is overpriced as the full entry price is €18.50 plus extra for towel and sandals. There are slightly reduced prices on weekdays between 1pm & 3pm and €10 after 8pm when many of the clients will have left. Drink prices also seem to be “top-heavy”
