Planet X in Ludwigshafen has been running since 2001 and describes itself as an exclusive world of experience combining an erotic store, a cinema lounge and a frivolous bar. The store carries a broad range of sex toys, lingerie, condoms and accessories from well-known brands, and the cinema lounge is known for its well-kept setting and constantly changing film programme. A day ticket lets guests leave the cinema once and come back on the same day.

The venue covers 1,000 square metres with room for 200 people. Its bar is open daily with alcoholic and soft drinks, and the reception counter sells snacks and sweets. There is a couples' area, a separate smoking area, lockers and a shower, and an outdoor area in summer. A couples' evening is held on the last Sunday of the month, and Monday is 'Naked Monday'.
