Kaiserbründl on the Weihburggasse, in Vienna's 1st district, is a men's sauna that says it has been in continuous operation for more than 135 years, and it keeps its original period interiors. It has 1,700 m² with two saunas (one a bio-sauna), a cruising steam bath, a pool, a play area, rest cabins with TV, a relaxation area, slings, a darkroom, and a prison with cages and glory holes. There is a bar, and a restaurant area by the till serves food until 21:30. Massages can be booked at the till from 14:00. Under-18s are not admitted, and women are not admitted during regular sauna hours. The entrance is the green door on the Weihburggasse, between Kärntner Straße (U1/U3 Stephansplatz) and the Parkring (U4 Stadtpark, tram 2 Weihburggasse). Open Sunday to Friday from 14:00 to midnight and Saturday from 14:00 to 02:00.

A first visit, and a real pleasure! I went three times during my stay in Vienna :))... As many have already noted here, the place is huge and stunning. The décor suits a venue steeped in history (were these really Roman baths back in the day?), yet nothing feels pretentious or intimidating. The large changing area is spotless, as are the showers and toilets. The staff are efficient, laid-back, and friendly. There are plenty of opportunities and spaces to find someone to have fun with... the steam room is cleverly designed to encourage getting close; there are two adjacent dry saunas—one of which is very hot (often featuring essential oil diffusion and nice manual "air-fanning" by other guys)—a small, quiet pool, plenty of cabins (and cruising nooks), plus "hot" videos playing. You'll find men of all shapes, sizes, and ages—locals and tourists alike, of course. BRAVO: A must-visit spot for fans of saunas and men (certainly the best in Europe)!

This is one of "must to do" locations for gay travellers in Vienna! It offers pleasure and amenities for many hours not only during the cold season. Don't miss it. Centrally located in the middle of first district, huge, two bars with restaurant, clean and secure and a good international crowd, mixed ages. Thursday half price. The place was location for movies as the interior is from 19th century. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

The building is stylish as everyone said, but the layout is too complicated (I guess most people cannot visualize the full map of it within a few hours of visit). The cleanliness level is ok. Note that Austrians are extremely reserved, and they only become unreserved in those most uncomfortable rooms (extremely dark / hot / humid rooms), so if you want to see "details" of local Austrians at their bright comfortable lounge area, you may be disappointed.

I have visited many saunas across Europe and have never experienced anything like this. As soon as I arrived, the receptionist’s attitude felt unusually confrontational. Although I was clearly alone and nobody was behind me, he repeatedly questioned whether I was really by myself. He then asked for proof of age. I am 28 years old and had no problem showing my passport. Since I have thousands of photos on my phone, I used the search function to find it quickly. The searched term was highlighted on the screen, which is a completely normal smartphone feature. For reasons I still do not understand, he became suspicious because of that highlight and repeatedly questioned the authenticity of my document. He even searched Google for examples of my country's passports while I was standing in front of him. After I removed the search highlight, he finally realized that nothing was wrong. At that point I explained that this is simply how smartphone search functions work. Instead of acknowledging the misunderstanding professionally, he appeared offended and continued speaking to me in a dismissive manner. He then asked whether it was my first visit. I replied that it would probably be my last. Immediately afterwards, despite having already accepted my payment, he refunded me and refused entry, claiming that my attitude was the problem. I have never been refused entry to any sauna before, nor have I ever had my identification questioned in such an unusual way. The entire interaction left me feeling unwelcome, singled out, and treated with a level of suspicion that other customers around me did not appear to experience. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.

I was there on Friday, pity it’s only till 00:00. Very historical and a peace of art itself. It’s a really huge sauna, the naked area is nice, a lot of people inside and of course someone took my towel. Smoking are is good just a bit too much light. All kind of steam, bar area and dark rooms are nice.
