Rhody Boats' grand opening at its new home, Studio 253 in Providence, held on Halloween night as The Velvet Underworld — an evening of Halloween thrills, music, dancing and, in the organiser's phrase, wickedly good company.

The room has comfortable lounge seating, a dance floor with a stripper pole, open play spaces and four private playrooms. Singles and couples are welcome and the night is billed as LGBTQ+ friendly.

There is a Halloween costume contest with prizes for best male, best female and best couples costume — dress to impress, or to disturb. The event is BYOB with a full-service mixer bar to make up your drinks, and free Jell-O shots through the evening.

Tickets are sold through Eventbrite. Cash is accepted at the door with an advance RSVP by email.
