My name is Vladimir, I'm 36 years old, and I want to go to the cinema in Essen. But I don't understand German very well.

A cinema with a high fitness factor: up and down stairs. Just like at the Man Moviethek, it's sometimes annoying when staff mingle with the audience.

We've been there quite a few times as a couple. I (F18) and my husband (M21) have always been quite satisfied. The staff were usually nice, and we often got free entry or drinks. However, today we were greeted extremely rudely by another employee who was outside smoking with several other people. He saw us coming and immediately said, "Ugh, what's going on?" A woman who was standing with him said, annoyed, "We probably want to go to the cinema." We went inside, went to pay, and the guy who had been so annoyed told us that today it was only possible with a prior reservation. First of all, there's no mention of that anywhere, neither on the website nor on Instagram or anywhere else. Secondly, he could have said it more politely and been more direct, in our opinion. Therefore, we probably won't go there again. He was extremely unfriendly. The other employees who were there were nice, though.

Last night, March 29th, was my first time at your cinema as a trans woman. I came with a male companion for "Transday" and met another trans woman there. The three of us had a great time 🥰. The cinema is very clean, the staff is super friendly, and the other patrons weren't at all pushy (which I've unfortunately experienced at another cinema)! I also think it's fantastic that I, as a trans woman, don't have to pay admission ☺️! That was my first, and definitely not my last visit. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
