DomCon is a professional and lifestyle domination convention presented by Mistress Cyan, and it is the rare fetish event that is built like a trade conference. It runs twice, in two cities — New Orleans in the autumn and Los Angeles the following summer — taking over the ballrooms, vendor halls and hospitality suites of a hotel for five days each time.

The programme is unusually structured. Days run to a published schedule: a registration desk, an exhibitor hall, an Industry Only Seminar Series for people who work in kink and adult entertainment, classes and workshops, and a run of community socials that are the convention's real signature — separate gatherings for professional Dommes, for submissives and switches, for first-time attendees, for BIPOC attendees, for gender-expansive attendees, and a peer-led recovery meeting. Evenings turn to ceremony and play: a red carpet, opening ceremonies with community awards, a Dominatrix Hall of Fame induction, pet play awards, and ticketed play parties that run until 2 AM.

The New Orleans edition has one thing no other fetish event has: the DomCon Second Line Parade, which goes out through the French Quarter in fetish wear behind a seven-piece jazz brass band, a Grand Marshall and a police escort, honouring the community's dead and celebrating the living.

Entry is by badge and every attendee must present valid photo ID, with no exceptions. The convention has run in Los Angeles at the Hilton LAX; the New Orleans edition is at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter on Canal Street at Bourbon.
