Risqué Soirée is a sex-positive events company in Salt Lake City, and it runs something closer to a community than a party series. Its evening programme is a rotating set of themed nights at a location it keeps off the open web — an initiation night for newcomers, a tantra night, two dungeon nights a month apart, a full-moon dance, a sex-magic night, and a Halloween erotic ball it bills as its twentieth annual.

Around that sits a great deal that is not a party at all: hot-springs meet-and-greets, a men's circle, a group hike and a standing consent workshop. Utah is not an easy state for this and the organiser has built the scaffolding to match.

Getting in is deliberately slow. Membership comes first, then orientation: every member must complete a Sex-Positive 101 consent workshop before attending selected events or reaching VIP areas, and single men must also complete a Single Men in the Lifestyle class before any play event — inside two months of joining, or the profile is deleted.

The published rules are among the more thorough in the American scene. Consent is asked and given before any contact and applies regardless of gender; couples are encouraged to arrive and leave together; there are no cameras or phones in private areas; outside alcohol is banned unless a night says BYOB; and nudity and sexual activity are confined to designated play areas. Safety is entrusted to volunteer stewards called Risqué Guardians, identifiable by black shirts marked with white wings.
