Unbound RDU is a Raleigh-Durham community for sex-positive, kinky, non-monogamous and curious people — in its own words, for people 'done settling for surface-level connection'. It runs two things: Mixers, low-pressure socials that bring together the kink, swinging, tantra and non-monogamy scenes; and Swinglers, which it describes as themed, curated, fully sex-positive events where kink, play, laughter and connection all happen in the same room.

The Swinglers are held at The House in Raleigh, which Unbound takes over for the night. The community is careful to say how those differ from a regular night at a swing club, and its first answer is that they are not heteronormative — sex happens with all genders in all combinations. It also sets out the difference in consent culture it works to, summarised as 'Swinging: Yes until No. Kink: No until Yes.'

Pricing is deliberately flat: the community says it does not offer couple or gendered pricing, because 'everyone pays the same, everyone plays the same'. First-timers pay a registration fee on top. Attendance is vetted, and the community publishes separate eligibility and accessibility pages.
