Townhouse è un club per scambisti a Birkenhead, sulla Wirral, a circa cinque minuti dal centro di Liverpool.

È deliberatamente difficile da individuare: un grande edificio color crema all'angolo tra Union Street e Roslyn Street senza insegne e con un aspetto volutamente trasandato, che il club sostiene sia quello che preferiscono i suoi ospiti. All'interno c'è un piano terra con un bar con licenza, aree per attività ricreative al piano superiore, stanze private e uno spazio esterno, oltre a uno Snack Shack che rimane aperto fino all'una di notte nelle serate più importanti.

Non è un club dove ci si veste in modo casual all'arrivo — il codice di abbigliamento è vestirsi elegantemente, e lo spogliarsi diventa atteso solo al piano superiore dopo le dieci e mezza. Tutto funziona su prenotazione di biglietti, senza ammissioni al varco d'ingresso, e il club segue un calendario piuttosto che un orario settimanale: giovedì, venerdì e sabato sera, il primo lunedì del mese di giorno, due martedì al mese per incontri sociali, e occasionali domeniche principalmente dedicate a eventi BDSM. È richiesto un documento di identità con foto alla prima visita, e i telefoni cellulari non sono consentiti in nessun luogo dell'edificio.

I am sorry to give a 1 star. It Felt more like a school than a swinger club everybody was too young looked like a high school kids . The staff were nice The decoration and everything was nice including how clean and hygienic the place was. But it was quite difficult to approach people because they were in a group. Maybe it could be my looks or my vibe…. just wanted to have a normal convo with lads or ladies but they all gave me a side eye just felt like I didn’t belong there and came home super depressed….

A fabulous, friendly and very welcoming place. Absolutely immaculate, reasonably priced drinks and most certainly my favourite UK club. As a single woman, I really appreciate the fact that rules are strictly enforced in here (unlike some other clubs I've attended). A very safe space place to come along and just be yourself.

Heard alot about the place, referred by a mate. I just live around Liverpool City centre and I'm a cocktail bartender so always working over weekends, but look forward to dropping in and becoming a member someday.

I traveled all the way up from Southampton for MANE, a first-of-its-kind event dedicated to hair play, which actually turned out to be the best event I have partaken in since I joined the "scene" about a year ago. Upon arrival, the staff were very professional. From the start I felt safe and that carried on the whole time. I was given a tour - I love the building, many different rooms, both private and shared, and a lot of interesting BDSM equipment (not that I used any of it!). Mobile phones aren't allowed, due to no photos, but it's good as it means you won't have people sat around texting. The lobby was a great place to chat to random people! There was a good range of guests - from all over the place - and different ages; men, women & diverse genders etc. I also liked the idea that you pay £10 deposit for the locker key and this goes towards your bar tab. My only complaint was that the only working clock was in the lobby - we lost track of time easily - and due to not having phones it was hard to swap contact details. Overall I'd give it 5/5 and I'll happily travel up for the next MANE!

Even if, like myself, you’re just looking for a place to socialise and meet like-minded people: The Townhouse is a fantastic place to do it. In addition they offer a staggering amount of events for any interest you might have, including open evenings for new members who want to check the venue out. I’d never been to a swingers club before, so wasn’t really sure what to expect. However the staff and patrons both are all so friendly, and it was great seeing a bar where people were so warm and welcoming to each other. They’re great hosts too, making sure that there’s plenty of entertainment and icebreakers throughout the event. Safety is given huge respect here: both to the guests and their belongings. You’re given a key to a locker, and the deposit comes out of your bar tab at the end of the night. The drinks are all very reasonably priced too, cheaper than some pubs I’ve been to around here! I’ve only been twice, but both experiences have gone so well that I’m really looking forward to becoming a regular. If you have any interest yourself: check the website and see if anything tickles your fancy. Just be sure to read up on the rules & etiquette, as places like this can only function if everyone is on the same page with what is and isn’t allowed/expected of people.
