I arrived around 1 AM. A cheap smoking room was available, so I stayed there. The woman at the reception was very friendly. The room was typical of a love hotel. It didn't smell of cigarettes at all!
On my way out, it was raining, and I bumped into a woman who was coming to work. She asked, "We have umbrellas at the front desk, would you like to use one?"
Neither of us had an umbrella, but it was only a 2-3 minute walk to the station, so I didn't borrow one.
I don't know if the umbrellas were free or not, but I thought it was a very thoughtful gesture!
I was there for a delivery.
The receptionist at the front desk was very pushy, and I decided I would never use this store again.
If she treats vendors that way,
she must treat customers that way too.
I was waiting at the front desk because I had an appointment with a client there,
and she approached me with a rude "What is it?"
I told her I would wait in the lobby,
and we had to go through the same exchange two or three times before the conversation finally ended.
She also made unnecessary comments like, "If you knew the room number, we could call them," which was annoying. All I could say was, "Well, that's what I'm saying too."
I made sure to explain that I could contact the client myself (I didn't know the room number, and I wasn't going to go to their room in the elevator anyway),
and that I was waiting at the front desk, and ended the conversation, but it was truly unpleasant.
If she didn't know anything, she should have been more helpful, or if I had done something wrong and she was upset, she should have just said so.
I've delivered to dozens of other love hotels and business hotels, and most of the receptionists I've met so far have been very kind, so I was really disappointed.
Looks like a nice hotel from the outside! I stopped by to admire the facade and the architectural design!
They were willing to accommodate my fiance and me (a queer couple) which alone deserves 5 stars compared to the competition. The shower and bath were fantastic and the bed was surprisingly comfortable.
Very wonderful experience!!! Highly recommend this hotel, it was friendly and affordable and the staff was very attentive and helpful! They speak little English, and I speak little Japanese, but Google translate goes a long way. And they're gay friendly! My fiance and I had been turned away from a love hotel around the block so it was refreshing to know it's not the entire area. If you're looking for a romantic stay in Asakusa, I can't recommend anything better.
