Honest Review- Updated June 2026 **This place is dead and the girls are very pushy now. Lack of communication skills from the girls on offer, low quality talent and it's really hanging by a thread in continuing to operate it seems. Still zero money spent on fixing the place, its just plain sad it's got to this point** The below was my review in 2025 where it had a bit of potential. Maxine's has been around a long time. I've been there 3x times, once around 7 years ago and a couple times over the last month. 7 years ago it did feel like it had more of a "buzz" compared to the second/3rd time we went (few weeks ago and this weekend gone) it seemed a bit outdated and needs a bit of an update facilities wise (especially bathrooms) to bring it back to where it should be. Being in a location like Brunswick, this improvement would only encourage more people to check it out as opposed to the "bigger well known clubs" in the CBD. Having said the above, the Security/Bar staff are friendly and approachable, the girls are actually a very good mix (better then most of their competition) for most tastes and although I mentioned the lack of buzz, it's definitely laid back and you can hold a convo if you are with friends or dates (yes I went on a date here don't @me), unlike some competitors that are overly loud and chaotic. I would return again purely for the chill vibe, but I do feel like as I mentioned above it could do with some money/effort spent on facilities and ambience, I don't think it would take much to get some improvements and on its way to its former glory. It mentions on their website that there are food options, this must be outdated as the reaction when I asked was puzzling 😄 Can also confirm that it is Couple/Female friendly.

We were there 2 hours and no one danced, not sure if that's normal for these places- but why have a massive stage if you're not going to use it Bar staff were chill, appreciated them a lot. We talked about the housing market

The place was fantastic it was my 1st at a club with my partner and the girl we had was lovely and respectful her name was Birdie (think that’s how you spell it) She’s a stunning women, attractive voice. My partner apologies on stepping on her underwear on the way out :) recommend it for anyone whiling to give it a go.
