The Tropicana is the most famous cabaret in the Caribbean, open in the Marianao district of Havana since 1939 and staged largely outdoors under the trees. Its revue runs to some two hundred performers in elaborate costume, and the show has changed remarkably little in format across eight decades.

It belongs in an adult guide as a revue venue: the Tropicana's tradition is the showgirl spectacular, in the lineage that produced the Lido and the Folies Bergère, rather than a strip or contact venue. It remains a state-run operation and one of Havana's principal night-time attractions.
