La Chaloupe is one of the veterans of the French libertine scene — a club libertin in Bordeaux's Bastide quarter, on the right bank of the Garonne, that counts more than thirty-five years of operation by its own history. Longevity like that in this world means one thing: the formula works.

The club runs weekend-centred hours: Thursdays from 21:00 to 03:00, and Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves from 22:00 to 05:00. Inside sit a lounge bar and private spaces — the espaces privatifs where the evenings end up — and the calendar runs on themed soirées, published on the club's own site.
