Bunker is a cruising bar in central Riga, open more than five years, which describes itself as a space built on freedom, openness and respect. It is over-18s only and takes no bookings — you simply arrive during opening hours. Several screens around the club play themed cruising video.

Most nights are men only: Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 7pm, and Friday from 7pm through to the morning. Saturday is different — a swingers party open to men and women, running from 9pm until 8am. Mondays it is closed.

The €9 entrance fee felt overpriced for the experience offered. Upon arrival, there was only one person inside the venue, yet this was not disclosed at reception. The fee was charged without any prior information about the low attendance, and the interaction at the entrance was perceived as unfriendly and unwelcoming. In addition to the lack of patrons, the facilities themselves did not justify the price charged. The overall experience fell well short of expectations and did not provide good value for money.

Empty, dark, dirty and smelly. Gave my goosebumps after entering, do not suggest unless you’re into very dirty stuff and risks of infections. Staff guy was very cool tho:)

I recently got the courage to visit this bar. Great people and friendly staff. The drinks are reasonably priced too. So I definitely recommend it if you’re looking to find someone to spend some time — or even the night — with;)
