CJ's has been running private parties on the north side of Glasgow since 2005. The venue keeps its address to itself: entry is by booking only, and the exact location is given when you get in touch — by email at [email protected], or by telephone between 11am and 9pm, and up to midnight on a party night.

Inside there are three lounges, a separate smoking area and eight playrooms: an open room, a fully equipped dungeon, a couples and single-females-only room with a love swing, a cinema room, and four private rooms, one of them medical themed and one that can be used as a voyeur room. The programme runs from mixed parties to a regular gay and bi-male night for men only.

The house rules are stated plainly and are worth reading before booking. New guests are welcome but must make contact first to register an interest. Nobody is under any pressure to join in — the venue puts it as "No means No". Mobile phones are barred from the public areas and cameras or recording devices from everywhere in the building. First-time guests are asked to bring photographic ID, and there is no admittance after 11pm without prior agreement. A contribution towards running costs is asked for on the door; it covers tea, coffee, soft drinks and a buffet, with towels and condoms provided, and guests bring their own alcohol. The dress code rules out tracksuits and jogging bottoms.
