obscene is an erotic, BDSM and fetish trade fair held in Karlsruhe, and it describes itself as more than a fair — the main meeting point for the kink, BDSM and fetish scene of south-west Germany, and both a shopping event and an intensive experience.

It is built like a trade show rather than a party. Visitors get a hall plan, an exhibitor list, a programme of workshops, stage shows and a named guest, and a separate listing of parties and events around the fair; there is a page of fair hotels for people travelling in. Exhibitors get their own section with registration and downloads, and the fair keeps a press page. The site is published in German, English and French.

It is organised by M&A Messemanagement, a company based in Schönwald in the Black Forest, and holds no premises of its own: it hires exhibition halls for each edition.
