The museum is really cool, I wish they leaned into the history a little more; like it would be cool to see a lecture on the role erotica plaid in various civilizations through out time culminating in present time. But the real gem is the gift shop, you will go home with something I asure you.

Very thorough. Includes a lot of interesting history. It is a scattershot and not in any order so you can enjoy at your own speed and route. I will say there is a fair amount of bondage/sadism/non consensual/sacrilegious elements (which is definitely a big part of the history of erotica) but is very prevalent. Just as a trigger warning for those that might be sensitive. Definitely go in with an open mind.

The epicenter of debauchery... Surrounded by Strip clubs & Dispensaries they truly are the "epicenter" of debauchery. Why YOU should go visit & savor the museum... There's a difference between crudeness and uncensored expressions of history & art. Sadly, It will be shocking to the average ( and below average ) American because of our repressed society. this museum is uncensored, in every way. Everywhere you explore you will find true, open, and honest expression of sex from prehistory to present day and guesses about the future too. Not slanted or opinionated to say sex is good and doesn't have a downside. Pure and honest... Yes ... pure ... The historical nature of the exhibits helps give a direction to your visit. A theme, if any is present would be sex can be good/bad/ugly, but nothing's new it has always been this way. I recently went to the Smithsonian in D.C. and the exhibits here rival those in the Smithsonian in asthetics and depth of coverage of the theme of the display(s). It is a serious deep-dive on every facet of sex thru history includymilestones in the U.S. leading to our own(limited) sexual revolutions. But that won't keep you from giggling like a teenager a few times. You WILL be moved and even stirred (maybe to the point of expanding your OWN sexuality) if you are lucky. The curator is awesome! The exhibits change regularly and appear to be up to date within a month of my visit. The bookstore/art gallery is so inviting (as is Chastity the 1st beautiful face you see when you enter the building. She is a font of knowledge about the museum the art/books and the local area. We went to see Puppetry of the Pen*s. Walking through the exhibits was really fun and informative. The show was funny and unexpected.

We enjoyed our time at this museum! We came in with no expectations but we walked away really had enjoyed the experience. The museum has a wide range of informative, educational and historical exhibits and it was so interesting walking through all the different sections. It is self paced and you can take all the time you need. We were there for almost two hours and we didn’t finish walking through the whole place. We were taking our time reading all the posted information. We would def come back!
