We went to Flash tonight for a tribute show hosted by Morgan James. It was such a fun night with a variety of entertaining performers.
The staff here are absolute professionals highly skilled, attractive, and exceptionally good at what they do. Sex work and adult entertainment are valid, respectable forms of labor, and the individuals working here deserve credit for their talent and effort.
However, the experience here highlights a broader, institutional issue within the entire adult entertainment industry. There is an industry-wide blueprint that relies on a relentless, extractional hustle from hidden upcharges on basic drink orders to immediate high-pressure tactics.
Workers are often taught that this predatory dynamic is the only way to operate, but reducing a patron entirely to a financial extraction point ultimately does a disservice to the profession.
People are not naive; customers understand that this is a commercial transaction. But when the institutional system forces a constant, aggressive squeeze, it actively reinforces the very societal stigmas and shame attached to this industry. It takes an interaction that could otherwise be a relaxed, respectable, and mutually beneficial form of connection and makes it feel clinical and defensive.
The people here are excellent at their jobs. The industry as a whole needs to realize that straightforward transparency and dropping the relentless hustle wouldn't hurt the bottom line it would destigmatize the work and create a far more comfortable, respectable, and genuinely repeatable experience for everyone involved.
Had a great time at flash! Special shoutout to Kent who went the extra mile to search for and successfully find something a buddy lost there 2 days ago!
I’ve visited this place several times because the music can be good and the space has potential. Unfortunately, my experiences with the staff have consistently been negative.
The coat check staff, security, and some of the guards have been unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. It often feels like certain people are treated as if they don’t belong there. A nightlife venue should make people feel comfortable and safe, not targeted or unwelcome.
Another issue is the VIP membership culture in the venue. I understand why businesses create VIP tiers, but it sometimes creates an atmosphere where some patrons behave as if they are superior to others. Having a membership should never translate into disrespect toward other guests.
Everyone who walks through the door is a customer and deserves to be treated with the same level of respect. There are no first-class or second-class humans in a dance floor or a bar.
On a positive note, I also want to highlight DJ Sammmto. The music and energy he brings to the room are excellent. His sets have great flow and he clearly knows how to read the crowd and keep people dancing. DJs like him are a big part of what makes people want to go out in the first place.
No need to be rude… everyone’s drinking and some may drank a bit too much, but end of the day, we are just trying to have fun. Glasses heart is kinda pathetic… be kind! 🤡
This performer/dancer was extremely aggressive and rude. My friend was cheering for her and being nice to give her a tip while performing. When she got the tip while dancing, my friend just said “show me more” and was trying to dance with her. Obviously it means let’s have fun, let’s dance together, show me a different dance move etc. But the dancer aggressively pushed her away and said “If you give me money, just give it and move on, don’t rub it on my face, I’m not a dog”… then shockingly called my friend the C word…..🤯
This is actually pathetic, as the whole situation can be and should be handled completely different. The dancer’s response clearly showed her self-abasement and how unnecessarily sensitive she is, she could totally just had fun with the situation and move on with her performance. Instead, she chose to be extremely rude about it.
I was kinda iffy about coming to this club as there are so many bad reviews saying the staffs are rude and services wasn’t good. Now I know they all true, including the dancer! Even tho the owner always like to respond the one star reviews saying their reviews are “not true”… but hey, I experienced it first hand, ITS TRUE! Just do better…
