Pullermanns is a gay cruising bar on the Mathiasstraße in Cologne's Altstadt-Süd, and it has been a bar of this kind at that address since 1972 — under earlier names, Platzjabbeck, Hands and Boners, before the current one. Everyone in the city knows the address, as the bar puts it.

Its motto is Be free. The leather man meets the man in a suit, the bear and the skater sit together at the counter, and whether you were born in 1940 or 1990, whether you arrive in full rubber or nothing at all, all of it goes. The single, and the bar insists very important, rule of play is openness, mutual tolerance and acceptance.

It opens daily from 9pm — Fridays, Saturdays and the nights before public holidays until at least 5am, Sundays to Thursdays until at least 3am. Mondays start earlier, at 6pm, for a naked-only night. Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 8pm carry a rotating special: a golden shower session on the first and third Sunday of the month, sneakers and sportswear on the second, a fisting night on the fourth and, in months that have one, a photo and film session on the fifth.
