Sanctuary is a 3,000 square foot LGBTQ+ event space on the second floor of a building in Portland's Pearl District, above Cultura. In its own words it "provides a gathering space for a large and diverse sex-positive community", welcoming "LGBTQ+, poly, swing, kink, POC, all gender identities and relationship configurations".

The space runs from a foyer with a staircase and lift to a main room, a dance floor built by two local contractors out of parts from other clubs, and the pink door the club uses as its own landmark — "behind the pink door… another world".

It works as a calendar of dated nights rather than a club with fixed opening hours, with recent listings running from a Sapphic Sunday and a karaoke night to explicitly kink and orgy events.

Consent is the house rule and the club is blunt about it: its FAQ states that attendees "must understand consent, respect, and be able to interact in the real world", and that anyone unwilling to read the posted rules is unlikely to be a fit.
